Bio

I’m a journalist based in Venezuela but frequently roving Central America.

I've also reported from the Philippines, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, and Cuba, and was awarded a fellowship by IWMF to report in El Salvador.

I’ve covered a wide range of topics including the Philippine drug war, Honduras’ electoral crisis, Nicaragua’s street protests, migration from Central America, land defenders on the Caribbean coast and trans rights in Central America.

My specialty is in security, human rights, and U.S. policy, as I previously worked at the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), a think tank based in Washington, D.C., where I worked on U.S. defense and security policy, particularly in Central America, and investigated arms trafficking.

If you have a burning question about how guns move around the Western Hemisphere, the U.S. Congress, or about U.S. assistance to the world's police and militaries, get in touch.
