Portraits of Pride: El Salvador

El Salvador’s LGBT community routinely faces high levels of violence and discrimination—at least 145 LGBTI people have been killed in the past three years. In June it held its biggest-ever Pride parade, with some 12,000 people in attendance.

I teamed up with photojournalist Kimberly dela Cruz to tell some stories about what life is like for the LGBTQI community.
